thank you to someone up there!
Thanking God, Mama Mary and my angels in heaven and on earth for a deluge of birthday blessings
* perfect weather * after 3 days of rain and wind, it was sunny and bright and lovely for my small birthday slash thanksgiving gathering. we were able to put the food table outside.
* friends * march marked my 1 year in auckland, and on my birthday we carefully picked a list of people who made a difference in our new life here. there was david and normita of course, alfred and dexter (remember the guys who gave me a ride at the airport to britomart?), ado flores and family who arrived auckland about the same time i did and are members of the sto nino group, ferdie esclamado representing the kbnz group, our neighbors, and my former landlady janet, also pam and jocelyn who are fellow theresians. it is amazing how our home was filled to the brim – friends after all are gems. i will need a bigger apartment to fit them all.
* more friends * i spent several hours replying to multiply, facebook and friendster greetings from friends who i love like family. they have been my constant companions late evenings and they have inspired me tremendously to go after my dreams tenaciously
* family * my mom sent me daily birthday cards with different pictures of sweets. (she made a habit of doing it even after my birthday, now that makes her weird and funny at the same time) my brother and his wife gave me a surprise call (kahilak ko ug taunton popcorn) my sister called and 2 hours did not seem that long once we got started (now very scared of the cost) thanks mom. mwah!
* inorganic * the glendowie and st. heliers suburb had inorganic days. roland and the kids (myself included of course) got ourselves a new blue & gray 2 seater, several baskets, 2 beach chairs perfect for the yard, 3 office computer chairs, trampolene, laptop bag, sofa bed, foot rest, metal cans for rubbish, a telescope for the stars (pwede pamuso pud), lots of stuff toys, bikes and my favorite, 15 stackable chairs that was used for seating our guests for the party. (what perfect timing) oh and a garden umbrella too. i love trash specially from our generous trasher neighbors (big toothy grin)
* 4 days week work * starting april, i will be busy looking for a 2nd job as our company have cut costs by implementing the new arrangement. this would be a good opportunity for me to try something else. no worries, right?
* lechon * got to meet someone who cooks yummy lechon (crunchy as) and maybe chicken inasal soon. just excited! food arouses, period.
* creative projects * roland has completed the proposed sto nino auckland devotees website. i love the concept. can’t wait to present it next week. proud wifey
* breakfast pancakes * insoy cooked the yummiest pancake (his own mix) with bananas caramelized and blueberries on top. i’m glad i convinced him to choose a course on food tech. proud mum wishes he does this every weekend. wink wink
* life * just happy that everyday i breathe. that i can do what i need to do in this life time. inspired by the story of francis m. as narrated by fil (read every single entry on his multiply site and i can’t help but be amazed at how much more he could have done) thank you! let us just all live more.
